Thank you for joining me!
I wish you all a warm welcome to Mythology + More! My name is Lynnsey McAllister. I study English and Linguistics at the University of South Carolina Aiken. I have loved mythology and literature since I was young, reading has always been my escape and first love!
My Grandpa was of Cherokee descent, and told me stories of the Cherokee people and their myths. His stories sparked my love for mythology and storytelling. As I began to study at USC Aiken, I became fascinated with linguistics. The way humans communicate through writing and orature is the core of my academic focus.
My goal for this blog is to discuss myths, folktales, linguistics, and their interconnectedness.
Mythology + More is dedicated to Western and non-Western mythology, religions, literature, culture, and linguistics. The main cultural focuses on the blog will be Greek, Celtic, Norse, and Native American. However, many other cultures can and will be discussed! Please comment with any ideas or topics you would like to see in a post!
