What's Your Sign?

Hey guys! This week's post is going to piggyback from last week's post, we are still talking about the mythology within astrology! Did you know that each astrological sign is associated with a god or goddess?

Early Astrologers developed each zodiac sign's traits from Greek gods and goddesses, their Roman counterparts, dieties from other cultures have large influence as well!

Astrology is more than magazine horoscopes! Astrology is rooted in celestial observation, calendar systems, season changes, and divination.

My zodiac sun sign is Pisces, associated with the Greek god Poseidon, god of the sea. Characteristics of the Pisces sign in many ways mirror Poseidon's traits, such as moodiness, emotional fluidity, and intuition. There are more Greek gods associated with the Pisces sign, the two fish which make up the Pisces symbol are believed to be Aphrodite and Eros, who changed themselves into fish to escape conflict with the mythological monster Typhon. Much like Aphrodite and Eros, Pisces sign characteristics include creativity, adaptability, and romanticism. I feel like I associate with those characteristics, even when I would rather not, but hey, being a fish isn't so bad!

Even if you don't believe in astrology, it is always fun to look at your birth chart and see your sun sign (associated with your birthday) and compare the traits of your sign and it's associated god or goddess to your own characteristics! Check out your signs associated diety, and let me know which and why you do or do not associate with the characteristics in the comments!
